International Child Abduction/Hague Treaty

Do you have a child with an individual who is from another country and that individual has fled the country with your child without your consent? You need an experienced attorney who is knowledgeable with the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. The Hague treaty was designed to prevent international child custody problems by enforcing child custody orders abroad and to ensure the prompt return of children who been internationally abducted from the country they reside in.

According to international law, any country that has signed the convention is bound to recognize and enforce child custody orders by courts in other countries that have signed the treaty. However, not all countries have signed the Hague treaty. Unfortunately, when a foreign country has not signed the treaty, a United States child custody order has no bearing on how a child custody decision will be made in the foreign country.

The laws governing International child abductions are complicated and the attorney's at The Wren Law Firm can help. Call today for an initial consultation with one of our attorney's!
